2016年10月28日至30日，第一届全国高校自动化教学院长（教学主任）会议在东南大学举行。此次会议由中国自动化学会教育工作委员会主办，东南大学与江苏省自动化学会承办。来自清华大学、浙江大学、哈尔滨工业大学等国内80多所高等院校的自动化专业教学院长以及专业负责人等200多人参加了会议。东南大学副校长黄大卫出席会议开幕式并致辞，自动化学院副院长魏海坤主持会议。
