清华大学新闻中心2007年1月5日讯：日前，清华大学校友、哈佛大学生物统计学教授林希虹获得2006年统计学最高奖——考普斯总统奖。普斯总统奖是统计学领域最具权威性的奖项，设立于1976年，由美国统计学会、数理统计学会、美东及美西计量协会及加拿大统计学会等5个统计学会会长组成的委员会（简称“COPSS”考普斯）提名颁奖，每年只颁奖给一位40岁以下的统计学领域的最杰出学者。
“科技统计信息中心”为原“科技部管理学院科技统计研究室”。2000年5月科技部管理学院并入华中科技大学后，遂并入华中科技大学管理学院。该中心成立于1986年，长期从事“中国科技统计指标体系设计”、“科技统计方法”及“计算机信息处理技术”等方面的研究，并受科技部发展计划司委托，负责全国科技系统科技统计方面的技术工作，是科技部科技统计信息中心及科技部科技统计工作的重要技术支撑机构。
山西省统计局主要职能：（一）负责制定全省性的统计工作规章、统计现代化建设规划和全省统计调查规划，组织领导和综合协调全省统计工作，研究制定全省统计体制改革方案和实施办法。（二）监督检查统计法的实施。等。
